Lead Ob / GYN Advanced Practice Provider (Newport Beach)

Hoag Health, Orange County's top- ranked health system is seeking an experienced and dedicated Lead OB / GYN APP (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our growing team! The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to women throughout their reproductive health journey, including prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum care. This role requires a strong commitment to patient advocacy and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. The APP Lead serves as the primary resource for NP / PAs in the Division of Obstetrics & Gynecology and is responsible for APP role optimization, orientation of new team members, staffing, day-to-day clinical schedules and coordination, and for acting as the liaison to the division APP Physician Supervisor(s). This position reports to the Division Chief of Obstetrics & Gynecology and requires significant cross functional leadership to coordinate the activities of the Division NPs and PAs with clinical division physician and administrative leadership.

This position is a secondary administrative appointment with approximately 2-4 hours per week of time is devoted to the team lead administrative duties and remainder maintaining clinical practice within the Division of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Responsibilities

Lead APP works collaboratively to evaluate, implement and optimize advanced practice models in the Division and is responsible for the application of APP processes and provide clinical guidance to the team

Lead APP mentors APPs and staff on patient care, resource utilization, time management and professional development

Lead APP coordinates and directs other APPs and staff, including organizing, reviewing work schedules / coverage, workforce planning and optimizing workflows

Lead APP implements strategies to achieve operational and financial targets, such as decreasing length of stay, optimizing safety and efficiency, improving patient access to care and maximizing billing workflows

Lead APP develops and monitors clinical rotations for APPs and rotating students, as applicable

Lead APP may collaborate with physicians and management to provide insight on annual evaluations for APPs and participate in recruitment and professional development activities
