Join the dedicated team on the Cardiac Specialty Surgical Unit at Sentara Obici Hospital , where every day brings new opportunities to grow your skills, make a real impact, and care for a diverse population of patients.
2 South-Cardiac Specialty at Sentara Obici Hospital is a 25-bed Med-Surg unit where Registered Nurses specialize in the care of cardiac and stroke patients. Registered Nurses on this unit are skilled in cardiac rhythm recognition, administering cardiac drips, and conducting comprehensive neuro assessments. They work closely with cardiology, neurology, and interventional teams to provide timely, high-quality care.
This dynamic Med-Surg unit offers additional training opportunities, including NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, and basic arrhythmia recognition, to enhance clinical knowledge and confidence. The RN is responsible for delivering competent nursing care, following the nursing process and professional standards, including ethics, communication, leadership, education, and evidence-based practice. A BSN or MSN is preferred. All direct care RNs must obtain BLS within 90 days of hire; ACLS within 1 year for Critical Care / IMCU; and other certifications as required by the specialty. We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is : $30.38 - $55.38. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby / on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
