POSITION DESCRIPTION :

QCELLS seeks a Business Operation Analyst who will support the business planning and finance team of Axia, residential solar provider. As a Business Operation Analyst, you will help define Commission Calculation Processing and drive the core processes and business operation analysis for Axia. Your main responsibilities will be data analysis for the revenue and cost through gross profit forecast and results. In addition to providing accurate data insights for forecasts to decision makers and cross-functional leaders, you will provide process support to business partners to drive growth in key financial metrics. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and curious with demonstrated ability to dive deep to understand the story behind the numbers. This position will be based in Irvine, CA This position will require up to 20% travel as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be an integral part of the monthly financial close process by performing variance analysis and providing relevant insights to senior management. Investigate variances to understand trends, potential risk and opportunities and make adjustments to the forecast
  • Continuously improve our data management system, data collection, financial model, key forecast assumptions, and forecast process. Establish analytical framework for the team : ad-hoc analysis, automated dashboards, and self-service reporting tools to surface key data to stakeholders
  • Actively participate in finance initiatives, including but not limited to process improvements, ad hoc analyses, and preparation of periodic reporting activities

1. Commission Calculation & Processing

  • Monitor the progress of rooftop solar installation jobs contracted by Axia Solar and summarize milestone status.
  • Understand company pricing policies and procedures to process all required payments.
  • Calculate detailed sales partner commissions.
  • Validate sales data against contracts and CRM records to ensure accuracy.
  • Share detailed commission results with Sales Partners after payments.
  • Communicate with external Sales Partners to explain commission amounts and calculation methods.
  • Partner with finance and sales leadership to ensure timely and accurate commission payouts.
  • 2. Contract Review & Process Improvement

  • Review customer contracts for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company guidelines.
  • Verify contract terms (pricing, incentives, timelines) against internal standards.
  • Flag discrepancies or potential risks for management review.
  • Support automation initiatives for reporting and commission tracking.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to clarify contract details and resolve issues.
  • Partner with finance to reconcile payments and commission accruals.
  • Communicate findings, discrepancies, or updates clearly to stakeholders
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
  • Equivalent with a minimum of 5 years’ professional experience as well as a minimum of 1-3 years’ work experience in business analysis or planning
  • Strong computer skills including advanced level of computer skills : Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook)
  • Willingness to become the number one expert for your work
  • Fast learner, high degree of professionalism and conduct
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years of experience in statistical model building
  • 2+ years of experience in business analysis
  • 2+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve financial modelling or data analysis with measurable results
  • 1+ years of experience in any of Oracle, Tableau, Salesforce, SQL
  • Willingness to travel at least 20% of the time

    The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.
