Nurse Practitioner

Position Summary : Performs patient care both in the outpatient and inpatient settings under the supervision of a Medical Oncologist. Must possess credentials and current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maine.

Regulatory Requirements :

Masters degree in Nursing Science (MSN)

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.

Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred. Required within 2 years of hire.

Advanced Practice Oncology (AOCNP) certification preferred. Required within 3 years of hire.

Minimum of one (1) year oncology experience.

Licensed by the State of Maine as an advanced practice registered nurse (Nurse Practitioner).

Language Skills :

Able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.

Strong written and verbal skills.

Skills :

Basic computer knowledge.

Must be able to deliver patient care in a manner that is appropriate to patients age, physical ability and intellectual development. Must demonstrate proficiency in assessing treatment and responses and adapting care to meet the needs of the patient population; geriatric, adult, adolescent and pediatric.
