Overview

GE Additive Senior Process & Manufacturing Engineer role, part of the industrialisation team, focuses on delivering repeatable and reliable additive manufacturing processes for EBM technology. The position involves a balance of office work and hands-on work on the factory floor, collaborating with technicians, users, and internal teams to move additive manufacturing toward industrialisation.

Responsibilities

  • Work primarily with GE Additive's Electron Beam Melting (EBM) technology, with technicians and users, to develop and industrialise processes.
  • Split time between office tasks (writing work instructions, tooling guidance, process documentation) and shop floor activities (monitors prints, supports build prep and post-processing workflows).
  • Lead internal prints (fixtures, benchmarks) and ensure jobs are completed on schedule; maintain and continuously update build work instructions and related guides.
  • Prepare and deliver customer training, sometimes spanning full weeks, and translate work instruction theory into practical customer-facing guidance.
  • Participate in daily production control calls to align on tasks, deadlines, and catch-up work, with colleagues across global sites.
  • Collaborate with materials, design engineering, and external customers to tailor material properties and production methods for specific applications; provide ongoing consultancy to move customers toward full production.
  • Ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives; use rigorous checklists, MES data, design files, and build-time estimations to benchmark processes against customer requirements.
  • Support sales enablement by helping define and communicate manufacturing processes that customers can deploy with GE Additive systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field; practical, hands-on aptitude is essential.
  • Experience or strong interest in additive manufacturing, particularly with EBM technologies; comfortable with CAD tools and understanding of materials and mechanical design for repeatability.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with ability to work cross-functionally and train customers when required.
