Role Summary / Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Piping Analysis Engineer to join a high-performing Mechanical Analysis team responsible for ensuring the safety, performance, and regulatory compliance of complex reactor systems and components. This role involves performing advanced analyses on piping systems, pipe supports, and related components under a variety of operating and environmental conditions.
The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical and technical skills, solid knowledge of ASME codes, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed piping and pipe support design and analysis in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct evaluations such as stress analyses, fracture mechanics, seismic response, and vibration studies
- Develop and maintain technical design procedures for piping and support analyses.
- Deliver high-quality engineering analyses and reports that meet customer and regulatory expectations.
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines — including hardware design, containment, civil / structural, and core analysis — to solve complex technical issues.
- Support procurement and subcontract activities related to mechanical components and systems.
- Apply lean methodologies and Design-to-Cost principles to improve project execution and department efficiency.
- Provide technical direction, coaching, and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external customers to define scope, present results, and address risks.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering (other technical disciplines may be considered based on relevant experience).5–10 years of experience in piping and / or pipe support design and analysis.Knowledge or experience in the nuclear industryLegal authorization to work in the United States is required.Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in an engineering discipline.Working knowledge of ASME Section III (NB, NC / ND, NF).Experience with ASME Section III Class 1 Fatigue designProficiency with one or more piping analysis tools , such as PIPESTRESS, AutoPIPE, CAESAR II, or GT STRUDLStrong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.Ability to automate or streamline analysis workflows using scripting or data analysis toolsProven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary teamDemonstrated initiative and leadership, including mentoring junior engineers and facilitating project discussions.Seniority level
