Overview

The Director of Digital & Social Media will report directly to the Vice President of Digital and play a critical role in expanding our digital practice. This leader will serve as both a client-facing strategist and an internal manager, ensuring SG delivers best-in-class digital and social programs that drive measurable impact.

As Director, you will oversee client strategy and execution, manage and mentor team members, and help evolve SG’s digital offerings alongside the VPs. You’ll balance hands-on execution with leadership responsibilities, guiding programs that build brand visibility, executive thought leadership, and engagement for SG clients across B2B tech and high-growth sectors. You will lead strategies that measurably increase brand awareness, grow audiences, and amplify stories across owned, earned, and paid channels.

Responsibilities

  • Social Media Thought Leadership Programs Manager
  • Develop and oversee executive thought leadership programs, primarily on LinkedIn, amplifying executive voices and aligning with brand objectives.
  • Serve as the day-to-day client lead on digital / social thought leadership programs, managing deadlines, setting expectations, and ensuring quality.
  • Provide senior counsel to executives on digital positioning, thought leadership, and platform best practices.
  • Oversee ideation, content creation / editing, publishing, and optimization for executive programs.
  • Demonstrate ROI of thought leadership programs to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Digital & Social Media Program Management
  • Lead execution of integrated social programs across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
  • Translate client objectives into social campaigns that align with broader PR and communications strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze performance across channels, extracting insights to inform strategy and pivoting as needed.
  • Manage social listening programs to identify emerging trends, inform messaging, and surface opportunities or risks.
  • Guide paid amplification strategies to extend reach, boost high-performing content, and drive strategic engagement.
  • Translate the VP-level vision into actionable, scalable digital programs that deliver measurable impact.
  • Partner with leadership on new business proposals, POVs, and thought-leadership initiatives.
  • Actively contribute to operational efficiency by creating reusable templates, scalable processes, and training resources.

Qualifications

  • 7-8 years of experience in a digital agency or in-house at a B2B tech company on a digital marketing or social media team
  • Proven ability to lead digital and social programs for executives and brands, ideally in B2B tech.
  • Strong analytical capabilities; experienced with data tracking, performance metrics, and tools (e.g., MuckRack, Google Analytics, Sprout Social).
  • Familiarity with paid social campaigns, including small-scale amplification budgets.
  • Integrated communications acumen; capable of aligning digital / social strategies with PR and earned media campaigns.
  • Highly organized, entrepreneurial, and proactive in evolving offerings and contributing to agency growth.
