Packaging Engineer

The role :

Reporting to the packaging manager you will be responsible for planning and execution of production trials to commercialize New Product Development initiatives. You will create and maintain package component technical specifications. You will provide technical support services for all commercialized products. You will identify and execute cost reduction and process improvement initiatives. You will oversee package component supplier quality, supplier audits and supplier corrective action.

What you will do :

• Commercialization : Take packages designed by the Research and Development Package Development group to trial and first production. Coordinate and manage sales samples for the entire organization.
• Specification Work : Create and maintain package component technical specifications and finished goods assembly specifications to be used in the procurement of components and the manufacturing of finished goods.
• Technical Support : Troubleshoot technical packaging problems as they arise in internal / external production.
• Cost Reduction & Continuous Improvement : Drive, support and implement Total Cost Reduction (TCR) and packaging improvement initiatives at the package supplier and the finished goods manufacturer levels.
• Supplier Quality : Drive improvement in overall quality of package suppliers.
