SUMMARY : Under general supervision of the Manager of Medical Imaging for the BHMGPC Division, operates x-ray, bone density and computerized tomographic scanner equipment, and related equipment, to produce images of any designated anatomical area.
RESPONSIBILITIES : Provides explanation, and answers questions about the technical aspects of the procedure. Ensures safety and comfort of patients. Screens patients for proper medication withholding, diet preparation, and drug and food sensitivities to avoid possible adverse reaction to examination. Interviews patients, and reviews medical referrals and records. Prepares supplies for injection of contrast medium. Operates a high-pressure injector. Can operate and navigate all pertinent IS software related to job functions such as, but not limited to LifeChart, PACS, Terarecon, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Completion of at least two years of formal training in a School of Radiologic Technology or equivalent. Maintains a current XR and CT license to work in the State of Rhode Island. Maintains ARRT and advanced level CT certification by the ARRT. Must be multimodality technologist (CT, BD, XR).
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Healthcare environment such as acute care hospitals, physicians' offices, and ancillary healthcare enterprises. Works with medical equipment and has direct patient contact.
Pay Range
$38.78-$64.00
