Overview :
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Duties :
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with diesel engines, such as faulty fuel systems or engine overheating
- Conduct inspections of heavy equipment to identify any potential issues or malfunctions
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot electrical systems in diesel engines
- Repair or replace faulty parts in diesel engines, such as pistons, valves, or gaskets
- Operate heavy equipment to test repairs and ensure proper functioning
- Solder electrical connections and repair wiring harnesses as needed
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed
Skills :
Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of diesel enginesProficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical systems in diesel enginesExperience with heavy equipment operation and maintenanceKnowledge of hydraulics and ability to repair hydraulic systemsAbility to read and interpret schematics and technical manualsFamiliarity with farm machinery is a plusPhysical strength and ability to perform heavy lifting when necessaryCorrectly diagnose and repair equipment issuesComplete machine repair reports and document all needed informationExperience in troubleshooting and repair of Heavy Construction Equipment preferredWork alone with a limited amount of supervisionMaximize the efficient use of service and repair processes to provide fast accurate repairs and minimize unnecessary expenseEfficiently utilize tooling and technical resourcesRepresent the company in a positive, professional mannerCommunicate options to correct current problemsClass 8 and Heavy Equipment experience Preferred.
