Applicants for this position must have a passion for wine along with superior customer service skills to drive sales. We provide on the job training and educational opportunities to further a career in wine retail. Applicants with entry level knowledge will be considered.
Responsibilities :
- Assists in developing sales and providing assistance to customers
- Continues to develop knowledge of wine and other store products
- Works as part of a team to keep the wine department and store organized and effectively merchandised; this includes moving, stocking and staging product
- May be required to assist in other departments
Qualifications :
Candidate must be 21 years of ageCandidate will have good working knowledge of wine varietals, countries, and regionsCandidate will be able to taste wines in a professional manner as allowed for educational purposesCandidate will be able to lift 40-50lbsCandidate will be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidaysCandidate will have a strong desire to provide superior customer servicePrevious retail experience, experience in the wine and spirits industry, or hospitality industry, is preferredAbility to count cash and make change accuratelyAbility to operate business machines (scanners, computer keyboards, registers, etc.)Ability to pass any applicable alcohol training class and maintain a current certification cardAbility to effectively communicate with customers and managersAbility to follow directions and complete assignmentsAbility to write legiblyAbility to read small typeAbility to stand and / or walk for extended periods of timeAbility to repeatedly walk up and down stairsAbility to work in cold areasAbility to work hours as scheduledConsistent and regular attendanceCompensation and Benefits :
