Hana Engineers and Consultants, LLC is seeking to hire a full-time ACI / NCDOT Level 1 Concrete Technician who will serve as an on-site representative to perform quality control test procedures on commercial, industrial, public, and private from the ground up. This position is located in Charlotte, NC.
Core Roles / Responsibilities :
- Read and understand applicable construction plans and specifications.
- Perform Field Observations and Concrete Testing during the construction of bridges and Roadways.
- Write Daily Field Reports documenting work performed by the various contractors and indicating compliance / non-compliance with contract documents, plans, and specifications.
- Cast Field Samples of Concrete, Masonry, Grout, etc. for strength verification.
- Communicate Field Samples of Concrete, Masonry, Grout, etc. for strength verification.
- Provide daily or milestone updates to the Department Manager.
- Pick up construction material samples and deliver to the laboratory and deliver equipment to the site technicians.
- Communicate field test results promptly to the project team and supervisor, documenting compliance or non-compliance.
- Actively participate and demonstrate commitment to Hana’s Health and Safety culture.
- Independently inspect and oversee project inspection activities of roadways, structures, and parking lots.
- Apply knowledge and experience to perform quality test procedures using NC DOT standards, specifications, and procedures.
- Review and monitor documentation and compliance with contract documents.
- Oversee and document testing of materials.
- Apply Best Management Practices to safety activities.
- Communicate with various stakeholders,?including General Contractors, customers, and end-users.?
- Assist with the development of change orders, investigations, and field estimates.
Qualifications :
Ability to work independently and as a team member, maintain composure, and work effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Ability to use a company-provided laptop and a knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).Authorization to work in the United States.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving recordHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and over 50 pounds using handling equipment.Ability to maintain safe mobility over construction obstacles by foot and ladder, traversing over rough, broken ground and steep surfaces.Ability to work outside in variable weather at field sites and in labs with various levels of safety protection required.Familiarity with industry quality standards and regulations.Preferred Qualifications :
Construction-related training or Technical TrainingACI / NCDOT Level 1 Concrete CertificationExperience with Microsoft OfficeTypical work hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime and weekend work during peak construction periods.
