Description :
Two contractor registered nurse positions are available for second shift hours.
The hours of work will be from 1 : 30 PM to 9 : 30 PM, five days a week.
Every third week, weekend work is required, facilitating a day off before and after.
In this role, the nurse is responsible for the health care of 20-60 bedridden inmates.
Duties include making rounds, evaluating care needs, creating care plans, and teaching health care principles.
The nurse administers medications, including narcotics, and provides direct nursing care as needed.
Specialized procedures include IV therapy, chemotherapy, wound care, oxygen therapy, dialysis, blood transfusion, incubation, CPR, tube feeding, catheterization, suctioning, and phlebotomy duties.
The nurse organizes and oversees the code blue team.
They direct health care staff assigned to the area and act as the lead worker in charge of the assigned shift in the absence of higher-level nursing staff.
The nurse assists physicians in conducting diagnostic health evaluations.
Administrative tasks include charting and recording all medications, treatments, and pertinent medical information.
They complete required reports, document Medicaid information, order supplies, and maintain exact inventory of controlled drugs and medical equipment.
The nurse also arranges outpatient clinic appointments, medical examinations, and manages new and refill prescriptions.
The role includes performing administrative duties, serving as a liaison with other organizational members, conducting meetings, and occasionally serving as an instructor.
The job requires the ability to deal with abstract and concrete variables, to write meaningful, concise and accurate reports, and to gather, collate, and classify information.
Physical fitness is necessary for the demands of this role.
