Registered Dietitian Key Responsibilities :
- Complete nutrition assessments for new residents, as well as quarterly, annual, and change-of-condition reviews in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Document thoroughly and accurately in resident charts, including MDS sections and care plans.
- Actively participate in care plan meetings and collaborate with the care team to support residents’ nutrition goals.
- Design and implement personalized nutrition care plans that address medical conditions, dietary restrictions, and resident preferences.
- Develop and certify nutritionally appropriate menu extensions and support variety and resident satisfaction.
- Review and approve facility menus to ensure compliance with regulations and nutritional adequacy.
- Monitor food service operations to verify meals are aligned with prescribed diets.
- Provide nutrition counseling and education to residents, families, and staff when needed.
Registered Dietitian Key Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field from an accredited program.Completion of an ACEND-accredited Dietetic Internship or Coordinated Program.Current RD credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).State license or certification, if applicable.Must live or relocate to San AntonioRegistered Dietitian Key Preferred Skills :
Previous work in long-term care or skilled nursing strongly preferred.Knowledge of CMS regulations, MDS 3.0, and care planning in skilled nursing facilitiesSolid background in clinical nutrition for geriatric populations.Team-oriented and able to collaborate effectively with multiple disciplines.Proficiency with EHR systems and dietary management software.
