Business Operations Accountant

Location : Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex

Position Type : Full-Time | Work Setup : Hybrid

About the Opportunity

Symbiotic Services is recruiting a Business Operations Accountant for an innovative, growth-driven cloud solutions firm. This role is ideal for a finance professional eager to expand beyond traditional accounting into strategic operations. You’ll start by owning the full accounting cycle, then gradually grow into an operational partner—helping shape systems, optimize processes, and collaborate across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Core Accounting Functions

  • Manage accounts receivable and payable workflows.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations and maintain the general ledger.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Oversee payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.

Subscription & Project-Based Financials

  • Administer recurring billing, renewals, and service adjustments.
  • Reconcile subscription revenue with service delivery.
  • Track project budgets and profitability; assist with client reporting.

    • Operations & Cross-Functional Support

  • Identify opportunities to streamline finance and business operations.
  • Collaborate on vendor management, internal audits, and process improvements.
  • Support leadership with financial insights, reporting, and decision support.

    • Analytics & Growth Enablement

  • Maintain accounting analytics dashboards.
  • Partner with internal teams to align financial reporting with strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting and long-term financial planning.

    • Ideal Candidate Profile

    Required

  • 5+ years of accounting experience (tech or small-business environment preferred)
  • Strong grasp of GAAP, payroll, AR / AP, and reconciliations
  • Advanced Excel and accounting software proficiency
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and operationally curious
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

    • Preferred

  • Experience with subscription-based billing or project accounting
  • Familiarity with CRM, ERP, or workflow tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
