American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring prior travel, telemetry, and Epic experience, with adult and pediatric patient care responsibilities.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a busy 58-bed Emergency Department treating both adult and pediatric populationsHandles urgent and emergent cases including trauma, stroke, cardiac, burn, and acute interventionsCoordinates with ground ambulances and Med Flight for severely ill and injured patientsDepartment includes specialized services such as ECPR (ECMO), cardiac catheterization, and Level I trauma careEpic EMR is used and proficiency is required within the last 12 monthsSchedule includes 12-hour evening / night shifts (15 : 00–03 : 30 or 19 : 00–07 : 30) and occasional 8-hour shifts as neededWeekend and holiday rotation requiredFloating required, with travelers being the first to float across multiple units or locations as neededRole includes care coordination for a high patient volume and high acuity environmentMay be assigned shifts or duties in multiple units or different locations within the organization according to staffing needsTelemetry exam must be passed prior to start, with pass / fail testing based on strict criteria; third attempt requires documented course completion if earlier attempts are unsuccessfulDepartment provides a comprehensive one-week orientation with schedules communicated in advanceHoliday coverage required; typically only one holiday off is permitted per contractFirst-time travelers are considered based on unit policyScrub or dress code information is provided during onboarding\n \n Requirements\n
Active WI or Compact RN license in hand at the time of considerationMinimum of 2 years Emergency Department experience with both adults and pediatrics within the last 3 yearsPrior travel nursing experience requiredCurrent certifications : BLS, PALS, and ACLS (American Heart Association only), and TNCCBasic arrhythmia experience required; must pass pre-start telemetry examEpic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 monthsMust have experience in a similarly sized hospitalPermanent address must be at least 50 miles from the hospital; local candidates not accepted\n Benefits\n
