Position Summary

The Stewardship and Development Director plays a key leadership role in advancing the mission of the parish by fostering a culture of stewardship and philanthropy. This position oversees all aspects of stewardship education, donor cultivation, and fundraising initiatives to support parish ministries, programs, and facilities. This position reports to the Operations Director. This is a full time 40 hours a week position.

Key Responsibilities

Stewardship Education

  • Promote stewardship as a way of life rooted in Catholic teaching.
  • Develop and implement parish-wide stewardship formation programs.
  • Collaborate with clergy and ministry leaders to integrate stewardship into liturgy, education, and parish communications.
  • Organize workshops, retreats, and events to encourage parishioners to share their time, talent, and treasure.

Fund Development

  • Create and execute an annual fundraising plan, including :
  • Major Gifts
  • Planned giving
  • Parish annual appeals
  • Special events (e.g., galas, golf tournaments)
  • Cultivate relationships with donors, alumni, and benefactors.
  • Oversee donor recognition and ensure timely acknowledgments.

    • Communications & Outreach

  • Develop compelling content for parish bulletins, newsletters, websites, and social media.
  • Share stories of impact and promote giving opportunities.
  • Maintain regular communication with parishioners and stakeholders.

    • Data & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate donor records and fundraising data.
  • Provide regular reports to the pastor, finance council, and other leadership bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with diocesan policies and donor guidelines.

    • Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Catholic values, parish life, and stewardship theology.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, donor relations, and nonprofit development.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to inspire and engage diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in fundraising software and donor databases.
  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, theology, or related field.
