The assignment requires performing up to 40 procedures weekly, including endoscopies and colonoscopies, with the responsibility of managing patient consults and working on-call shifts. Candidates should be board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology, with required certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Gastroenterologist Locums Job in New York February 2025 and Ongoing

Coverage Needed :

  • Looking for one locum Gastroenterologist to cover 1-2 weeks per month.
  • Coverage needed starting in February

Assignment Details / Requirements :

  • Anticipated Procedures / Surgeries 40 per week of procedures (combination of elective and urgent / emergent inpatient / ER patients).
  • Variable inpatient and elective procedure time
  • Shift Hours : 7 : 30am - 5 : 00pm
  • On call
  • Inpatient coverage to include few hours of elective procedures, incoming urgent / emergent procedures and rounding.
  • 7 days of coverage Monday-Sunday, taking 24 hour call a few of those days. Potentially Monday-Thursday inpatient / elective procedures and Friday-Sunday 24 hour call coverage.
  • Required Procedures : Endoscopy, Colonoscopy
  • Patient Load : 10-15 inpatient consults
  • Fellowship : Gastroenterology; will not accept experience over fellowship
  • Board Status Requirement : BC / BE
  • Certifications Required : BLS / ACLS / PALS
  • Additional support staff : Nurse Practitioner
  • Provider responsibility for mid-levels : Minimal oversight of Inpatient NP
  • Trauma Level : 3
