Job Summary
This position is eligible for telework for applicants who reside in Minnesota or in a bordering state, with supervisory approval and satisfactory performance. If you live in a state bordering Minnesota, you must live within 50 miles or less from the primary work location to be eligible for telework.
The Senior Healthcare Data Analyst position is part of the Data Analysis Team which is collectively responsible for analyzing health care data for purposes such as estimating the need for health care services, evaluating and improving payment methodologies, estimating the impact of changes in delivery and payment systems, and measuring health care outcomes. Members of the team interpret data and study results to inform management of possible policy and program changes and execute highly technical analyses necessary to support management decisions and strategic planning for program outcomes and cost analyses. Members of the team also provide technical direction and consultation to management and staff and represent the division on planning teams charged with collection and dissemination of information related to the above activities.
This position is responsible for core data analyst functions such as responding to requests for complex data extraction and analytics, producing and interpreting data summaries and reports, interfacing with internal and external customers, participating on and leading cross-functional project teams, supporting various research projects within the Division, maintaining subject matter expertise in select aspects of the Department of Human Services (DHS) data and data systems, and participating in special projects as needed. There also is an expectation that data analysts will be an active participant in team, section and division-level functions such as planning, process improvement and documentation efforts, and quality improvement efforts.
