About The Position

Job Title : Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Profession : Radiology / Cardiology

Hours per Shift : 8

Experience : Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Tech experience required.

License : Active Virginia license required at the time of submission or proof of application for a Virginia license.

Certifications : BLS, NMTCB, ARRT preferred.

Must-Have :

• General skills in IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, PACS.
• Experience with nuclear medicine procedures including cardiac, bone scan, brain scan, lung scan, renal flow, thyroid studies, SPECT, and myocardial.
• Proven experience working independently.
• Previous charge experience preferred.
• Travel experience required.

Description :

Prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies using a variety of radioisotope equipment.

Prepare stock solutions of radioactive materials and calculate doses to be administered by radiologists.

Subject patients to radiation.

Daily caseload consists of 15-18 patients of all ages, from adolescents to geriatrics.

Work with general nuclear med studies including bones, renals, gastric emptying, GI bleeds, HIDAs, thyroid uptake / scan, parathyroids, and VQ perfusions.

Participate in call duty, which entails being on-call one night per week and one weekend per month.

Call hours are from 17 : 30 to 06 : 30 Monday through Friday and 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday.

Travelers must have experience and proficiency in the field.

Seasoned travelers preferred, but experienced first-time travelers may be considered.

Compliance with required vaccines, including seasonal flu vaccine, is mandatory.

This facility is smoke and nicotine-free.
