American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 48-hour per week ICU position requiring TNCC certification and prior travel assignment experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 39-bed ICU covering medical, surgical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma patientsMixed unit includes MICU, SICU, CICU, and TICU patient populationsCare for complex ICU patients, including ARDS, MI, stroke, COVID, post-cardiac cath, and major traumaPatient ratios range from 1 : 1 to 1 : 3 based on acuity12-hour night shifts with every other weekend rotation (not guaranteed)Floating may occur rarely and could include adult MedSurg or Tele unitsUses Epic for charting, with additional equipment including Alaris / Baxter pumps and OmnicellNo on-call requirementsHospital and ICU orientation provided : one 12-hour and one 8-hour shiftDaily duties include managing high acuity ICU patients in a fast-paced environmentTeam support includes 1-2 CNAs per unit, mobility aide, 2 charge RNs, 24 / 7 RT, peripheral phlebotomy, and 3 intensivists during days / 2 at nightICU RNs may be asked to float to the ED as qualifiedNo RTO allowed during holidays or Sturgis Bike Rally (first 3 weeks in August)Scrub color is navyFree parking is availableFacility prefers ICU and cardiac post-op experience, including CABG / TAVR, but these are not required\n \n Requirements\n
Active SD or compact RN license requiredCompletion of a board-approved nursing education programMinimum 2 years of ICU experience (excluding travel) strongly preferred; 1.5 years may be considered with extensive other RN experiencePrior travel assignment required; first-time travelers not consideredCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC (or willingness to obtain prior to arrival)Epic charting experience requiredStrong skills in ventilator management, telemetry, hemodynamic monitoring, administration of IV medications such as vasopressors, sedation, and paralyticsExperience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT strongly preferredMust be comfortable with a 48-hour work weekCandidates must live at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facilityFormer permanent staff must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler\n Benefits\n
