Overview
Project Engineer (System Integration) M / F role at VINCI Construction Grands Projets Hellas S.A.
Contract type : Project contract. Telework : On site. Location : North America, United States (Chicago, IL area).
Responsibilities
- Provides technical input for project work plan and scheduling; identifies risk elements of production, materials, equipment, or process that could negatively impact the budget or schedule.
- Assists in the production and review of shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data to ensure quality and contract specification compliance.
- Assists the development of design drawings and provides technical input as needed.
- Meets with the engineering team to review production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment and resources are available to continue production within schedule and budget.
- Evaluates weekly and monthly production, schedule, and budget projections to track project performance; documents daily activities using approved methods and technologies.
- Reviews project schedule updates weekly for owner and management reporting; attends weekly meetings and presents project production status as needed.
- Prepares and manages a three-week work plan.
- Notifies engineering and project management of significant schedule changes and develops solutions to mitigate delays and cost.
- Initiates and manages Requests for Information (RFIs) as needed by the project.
- Remits accurate project quantities using cost coding; collaborates with project accounting to oversee material, equipment, and subcontractor invoices.
- Supports engineering team with quality assurance; reviews certificates and permits needed to perform work.
- Reviews required Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to ensure a safe and compliant work environment; participates in safety meetings and presents field analysis as needed.
- Assists the project team with project schedule, budget, and cost parameters by providing technical input as needed.
- Coordinates subcontractor work methods, schedule and crews as needed.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management or related field.3-6 years construction engineering experience in System Integration.Proven ability to provide technical input to engineering teams in a design-build environment; ability to set clear expectations and delegate tasks.Advanced planning and scheduling skills;Ability to manage multiple engineering tasks in a demanding environment towards common goals;Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;Advanced knowledge of contract specifications and quality assurance practices;Ability to identify budget, project costs, and recommend options to mitigate delays;Strong verbal, written and presentation skills;Strong knowledge of financial reporting, quantity tracking, and cost coding;Ability to lead direct reports and influence cross-functional teams;Ability to identify and implement growth opportunities within the project team;Effective communication and responsibility-taking capabilities.Preferred
Familiarity with CTA standards.Experience in MOT, Utilities, and / or Roadway heavy civil construction.Work Environment
Dynamic and challenging work environment.Includes tasks such as maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, ensuring equipment operated safely and efficiently, and adhering to safety protocols on construction sites.On-site work with PPE required (hard hat, safety glasses, reflective vest).Physical Demands
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.Walking and standing during office or on-site work; occasional climbing on / off equipment and bending to inspect.Salary
