Safety Driver Autonomous Vehicle Operations

Location : Local in Austin, TX

Company : A Leading Developer in the Autonomous Vehicle and Delivery Robot Industry

Assignment Length : 12-month contract

Schedule & Pay :

  • AM Shift : 6 : 00 AM 2 : 30 PM | $20 $25 / hour
  • PM Shift : 2 : 30 PM 11 : 00 PM | $24 $28 / hour

Job Overview : Seeking attentive and detail-oriented Safety Drivers to join!

  • Help test and monitor autonomous vehicles
  • Ensure safety and performance on the road.

    Key Responsibilities :

  • Safely operate autonomous vehicles to collect data on performance and environmental factors.
  • Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and ensure system readiness.
  • Monitor vehicle systems in real time and provide detailed reports.
  • Interact professionally with engineers, operations leaders, and test riders.
  • Respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected events or road hazards.
  • Maintain a high level of alertness and avoid distractions at all times.

    • Requirements :

  • At least 3 years of U.S. driving experience with a valid driver's license.
  • Clean driving record (no DUIs or drug / alcohol offenses in the past 5 years).
  • Proven ability to drive safely under varied road and weather conditions.
  • Strong knowledge of local Austin traffic regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  • High degree of personal responsibility and professionalism.
  • Experience in one of the following is required :
  • Autonomous vehicle operation
  • Driving instruction
  • Motorsports (e.g., ATVs, Side-by-Sides, dirt bikes)

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Familiarity with vehicle technology and control systems
  • Certification in safe or defensive driving
  • Data collection experience using technical tools
  • Additional training in safety or defensive driving
