Overview
The Library Coordinator, Access Services provides daily supervision of Access Services operations to ensure the quality of service expected by library patrons and other library departments. The role assists Access Services Managers in training, development, and evaluation of Access Services staff, engages in problem-solving related to library policies and patron inquiries, escalates complex questions to management, and utilizes various systems to perform routine record maintenance. The position oversees Access Services activities by monitoring desk schedules and directing staff in services such as registering patrons, checking out and renewing materials, collecting fines / fees and recording payments, issuing library cards, responding to inquiries and referrals, signing in visitors, and verifying patron eligibility. In the absence of the Library Operations team, the person may handle facility requests during evening and weekend shifts. The Access Services Department manages four major functions : Circulation Services, Resource Sharing, Entrance Services, and shelving.

Minimum Qualifications : Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
