Education Director, Special Programs

The Education Director, Special Programs will be responsible for the development and execution of the Office of Professional Development and Publishing educational projects for pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. The person in this role will also be accountable for the successful operation of an ASHP member program(s) and service(s) and will have responsibility for developing / maintaining work tools, processes, systems and program protocols to deliver member services and programs.
This is a regional hybrid position that requires candidates to live in the DMV area and be present in the downtown Bethesda, Maryland office as needed. At ASHP, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. The salary range for this position is $120,000-$150,000 and ASHP offers a comprehensive benefits plan.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develops high-quality, evidence-based educational content for live and enduring educational activities.
- Responsible for management of all aspects of Continuing Education (CE) accreditation for activities.
- Ensure faculty and participant satisfaction by monitoring project results and developing solutions.
- Develops, implements and manages other non-CE PDPO projects.
- Serves as liaison and primary contact for selected aspects of commercial supporters.
- Provides guidance to other Special Programs staff.
- Collaborates with staff of the Sections, Forums, and other offices / divisions.
- Collaborates with marketing on promotional activities and development of printed materials.
- Assists program development staff by recommending new project ideas.
- Identifies and analyzes educational needs assessment data.
- Assists in the maintenance of project files.
- Collaborates with staff leadership to determine, execute and create new programs.
- Develops policies and procedures to achieve desired outcomes.
- Travels to ASHP meetings as required.
- Provides on-site meeting coordination and management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to ASHP
Graduation from ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy required.Pharmacy residency training preferred.Pharmacist licensure preferred.Board certification preferred.A minimum of five years of experience in related project management or association management is required.A minimum of five years prior experience in adult education and accreditation standards for healthcare professionals.Five years of relevant pharmacy practice experience preferred.Experience in authorship, peer review and publication process preferred.Ability to stay current on current topics in healthcare, pharmacy practice, and therapeutics.Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage competing deadlines.Excellent verbal and written communications skills and presentation skills.Attention to detail, high level of motivation, "can do" attitude.Highly customer-service oriented.Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.This position requires occasional domestic travel for conferences and meetings anticipated to be in the range of 3 to 5 times per year.Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.Working knowledge of project management tools.About Us
