Position Summary As an enterprise-level leader, the Head of Security owns and has full responsibility for protective security across the global organisation. Leading a team of security professionals, you will guide the development and implementation of a global, enterprise-level security operating model for the company, covering physical, personnel and operational security requirements. You will set and promote the company’s long-term security strategy in coordination with senior leaders and adapt rapidly to changing business needs while embedding security into the company culture.
Role And Responsibilities
- Establish and leverage strategic working relationships with key leaders across the enterprise to promote the security vision and strategy.
- Take a risk-based approach to allocate security resources to best support the business’s commercial and operational needs.
- Lead the enterprise through defining risk appetite and risk tolerance in the context of the external threat landscape.
- Lead policy development through consultation, collaboration, drafting and support to the business on implementation across physical, personnel, travel, executive protection, events, information and operational security.
- Lead the design and build-out of a security management system to underpin governance and oversight of protective security as part of the integrated management system.
- Develop a fit-for-purpose, risk-based quality assurance programme and reporting mechanisms for board and management level security performance.
- Coordinate with Safety, Cyber Security and Quality to ensure cohesion and maximize resources in a lean operating environment.
- Determine security training needs across the enterprise and design a lifecycle training programme from induction to exit protocols.
- Engage with external stakeholders, law enforcement and government agencies to refresh threat understanding and assess impacts to the enterprise.
- Chair the security review board and present topics for senior forum discussion and decision-making on security matters.
- Oversee incident reporting and investigations, handling complex cases and collaborating with stakeholders to reach satisfactory solutions.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with third-party security vendors for onboarding and effective contractual, commercial and operational oversight.
- Ensure security is represented in the company’s emergency response plan and act as security lead in crisis response scenarios.
- Develop and maintain relationships with business development teams to ensure security capabilities support bid frameworks and new contracts.
Skills And Experience
Significant experience leading security teams and scaling security programmes in a multinational organisation.Strong ability to influence and drive change through persuasion rather than direction.Proven ability to operate across strategic, tactical and operational levels to deliver outcomes.Knowledge of UK / US defence industry regulatory requirements for physical and personnel security.Excellent leadership, communication, and people skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.High emotional intelligence and adaptability to lead in ambiguity and navigate organisational dynamics.Experience across core elements of a management system including risk management, incident reporting and investigations, quality assurance, training and change management.Experience working across cultures in international environments with exposure to high espionage and / or physical risk contexts.Additional Eligibility Qualifications
