Provide industrial control system design, integration, and / or technical assistance for process control systems across multiple platforms. This requires an exemplary understanding of hardware and software across multiple platforms combined with an assimilation of the cross-defined execution processes, which brings value to our customers. The position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks, lead, direct, mentor, and distribute work to meet customer requirements while executing within company values and upholding our cultural cornerstones. The ideal candidate would also be interested in managing projects and potentially advance into the project management group.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to execute industrial automation projects using Cross internal execution processes acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across two or more system platforms.

Lead project development and be accountable for the delivery of all technical aspects of a project while managing the distribution of work amongst a team of talented engineers.

Effectively manage the scope of delivery to ensure customer satisfaction while also being mindful of the project budget limitations.

Effectively communicate verbally and written with customers and our internal engineering teams to provide clear targets for success while projecting confidence.

Ability to self-manage and effectively prioritize what is most important for our clients and our company with a healthy balance.

Mentor others by providing opportunities for both personal and professional development. This should be accomplished through insightful recommendations while building trust and providing direct and honest feedback through coaching moments.

Customer Satisfaction - Manage customer relationships from inception to completion to ensure project deliverables meet or exceed customer expectations.

Sales Support - Support sales pursuit, customer interactions, proposal development, and technical expertise to close project sales with associated area managers.

Team Management - Effectively communicate, manage, organize, and distribute work across functional team members to support project objectives.

Self-Awarenessport - Demonstrate persuasive verbal and written communication skills to instill customer trust through confidence and business insight.

POSITION SPECIFICATION

Education and Experience

Engineering or technical equivalent bachelor's degree and a minimum of ten (10) years of related industrial automation experience

Technical Associate two-year degree with a minimum of twelve (12) years of related industrial automation experience

Experience in developing greenfield DCS and / or PLC-based automation projects

P.E. or PMP certification is a plus but not required

Knowledge Required

Excellent technical comprehension of industrial automation design using specific platform tools.

Excellent computer and software skills including a good working knowledge of the following :

Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Chrome, Draw, etc.)

MS Office tools (Word & Excel)

Smartsheet

PDF Editor

Viso and / or Google Draw

AutoCAD - Navigation and base drawing review

Ability to thoroughly understand and communicate technical information concerning the products and processes for developing a process control system

Ability to quickly learn, retain, and adapt to situations to ensure project success.

Excellent understanding of electrical and electronic controls. This includes programming to support both DCS and PLC's.

Ability to read electrical schematics, elementary, and / or loopsheets to support control system wiring for commissioning and troubleshooting purposes.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

The work environment varies from the typical office environment to the plant site environment

Travel and overnights are associated with this position. Generally, most Sr. Engineers travel

Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. Requires walking primarily on a level surface for varying periods throughout the day in the plant site area. This could involve long periods of Computer work.

Able to lift or carry up to 40 lbs.

Postural activities include climbing, maneuvering, bending, stooping, and kneeling.

Ability to climb ladders, stairs, platforms, and scaffolding to

diagnose / troubleshoot

processes and equipment occasionally.

Ability to work in non-permit required spaces and at heights of 15' to 20'.

Physical effort is required, and continuous mental and visual attention required

Working in the plant site environment may require working more than 40 hours to support the work efforts

The performance of this position includes exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as Safety Glasses with Side Shields, Hearing Protection and Safety Shoes. Primary environment : ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment as found in a typical manufacturing environment.
