Nursing Director - Inpt Services FVH
DEFINITION / PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
A registered health care professional who is responsible for providing administrative direction and leadership on a 24 hour basis for the delivery of care in the In Patient Units of 2MS, CCU, and Swing.
This position is responsible to coordinate development of services congruent with future trends of healthcare and Fairview Hospital, while maintaining patient, family and physician satisfaction; this includes integration of clinical and marketing development in accordance to budgetary and operational goals. Participates in the hiring process and makes recommendations for disciplinary action as necessary. Demonstrates knowledge of and assures compliance with accrediting / regulatory agency standards, hospitals and departmental policies and procedures and customer service standards.
This position provides coverage for senior management, which requires immediate administrative decisions to be made.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
Experience :
Minimum five years of clinical and managerial experience required.
Demonstrates ability to effectively manage multiple disciplines within the organization.
Demonstrates ability to manage change and effectively meet the needs of the healthcare environment.
Education and Training :
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
Masters Degree in Nursing, other healthcare field, or business preferred.
License, Certification & Registration :
RN Licensure – Licensed as a professional nurse within commonwealth of Massachusetts
BLS required and ACLS within a year.
Other Requirements :

Ability to interpret and administer policies.
Demonstrates leadership ability and communicates a strong ethic and commitment toward excellence in the healthcare service or profession.
Excellent interpersonal skills, communicates effectively with patients, family members, physicians, management and staff.

Demonstrated understanding of Joint Commission and other regulatory standards.
Demonstrated dependability. Documented effectiveness in confronting problems and resolving conflict.
Must be able to communicate effectively in the English language.
