Our client is actively seeking experienced Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNPs) to provide high-quality, compassionate care within a correctional healthcare setting .
Working under the supervision of the facility physician, the ARNP will play a critical role in delivering primary and urgent care, supporting treatment planning, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to address the complex medical needs of the inmate / resident population.
Salary range :
- $100,000 to $175,000 a year Key Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive primary and urgent care services, including exams, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to guide patient management.
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions within licensure scope.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and healthcare team members.
- Accurately document all patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes in electronic medical records.
- Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and coordinate clinically appropriate early releases.
- Participate in audits, compliance reviews, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper sanitation of medical equipment and clinical areas.
- Collaborate effectively with correctional officers, internal staff, and external healthcare providers.
- Provide patient education and health counseling to individuals and small groups.
- Respond to medical emergencies, including performing CPR and administering first aid.
- Support compliance with NCCHC, ACA, and JCAHO standards through documentation and continuous improvement.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in interdisciplinary committees to enhance healthcare delivery.
- Remain vigilant and responsive in high-pressure or potentially volatile situations.
- Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current licensure and / or certification as an ARNP in the state of employment.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience (correctional, emergency, or public health experience a plus).
- Family Practice certification or training preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Strong clinical judgment and excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a secure environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and adapt to a controlled setting.
