The Service Technician is responsible for executing cleaning, mitigation, and restoration tasks on residential and commercial properties following water, fire, mold, and storm damage. This role involves hands-on fieldwork, equipment operation, safety compliance, and professional representation of the SERVPRO brand.
Primary Responsibilities
- Load / unload equipment, products, and supplies for daily assignments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicle, equipment, and warehouse.
- Set up job sites including staging, containment, and engineering controls.
- Perform extraction, demolition, and cleaning procedures as directed.
- Operate air movers, dehumidifiers, and air filtration devices.
- Conduct HEPA vacuuming, damp wiping, and application of disinfectants.
- Communicate job progress and site conditions to crew chief.
- Follow safety and risk management procedures consistently.
- Perform site cleanup and leave jobs with a professional appearance.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Support office and warehouse cleanliness.
- Attend safety meetings and technical training sessions.
- Participate in ongoing professional development.
- Handle special tasks and assignments as delegated.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow direction.
- Effective verbal communication and teamwork
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- IICRC certification preferred but not required.
- Experience in cleaning, restoration, or construction is a plus.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Lift up to 50 lbs regularly, 100 lbs occasionally with assistance.
- Work in confined spaces, crawlspaces, and at ceiling heights.
- Perform repetitive motions such as bending, climbing, and lifting.
- Exposure to chemicals, fumes, dust, and extreme environmental conditions.
- Wear PPE and respirators when required.
Normal Working Hours, Additional Working Hours, and Travel Requirements
- MondayFriday, 7 : 30 a.m.5 : 00 p.m. with frequent overtime, nights, and weekends.
- Local travel required; occasional out-of-town travel may be necessary.
