Position Summary :
The Evidence Technician is responsible for receiving, examining, , securing, maintaining and retrieval of property and material (including contraband and drugs) identified as evidence of criminal conduct; maintenance of photographs, digital images, and video to be used in the arrest and prosecution of individuals charged with violating Federal and State law; responsible for the secure storage and processing of property seized by Police Officers.

Background Check Information :
This is a sensitive and critical position within the Urbana Police Department. For that reason, a conditional offer of employment extended to the selected candidate will include a check of professional references, a background investigation including fingerprinting, and a psychological evaluation.
