Scholar Career Coaching seeks an experienced Contract Grant Writer to take the lead in researching, developing, writing, and managing grant proposals. The Grant Writer will work closely with the Executive Director, program staff, and board leadership to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies that directly support our mission and programs.
This role requires a self-directed professional with strong writing, research, and organizational skills who can successfully manage the full lifecycle of grant development and compliance.
Goals of the Role
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities that align with Scholar Career Coaching’s mission.
- Lead the development of high‑quality grant proposals tailored to each funder’s priorities.
- Ensure timely submissions and accurate reporting to maintain strong funder relationships.
- Build a sustainable grants pipeline to support the organization’s long‑term growth.
Duties & Responsibilities
Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government entities.Lead the writing of compelling proposals, letters of inquiry (LOIs), and supporting materials.Collaborate with staff and board leadership to gather data, budgets, and success stories.Maintain a grants calendar, ensuring all deadlines for proposals and reports are met.Prepare and submit post‑award reports that track outcomes and demonstrate impact.Monitor funding trends and advise leadership on strategic opportunities.Qualification
Proven success in securing grants for nonprofit organizations.Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills with attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.Familiarity with online grant applications and nonprofit budgeting.Strong communication and collaboration skills when working across teams.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and virtual collaboration tools.This is a 1099 contract role. The contractor is responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
