About The Position

Job Title : ICU Registered Nurse

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

• Experience in running codes as an ICU nurse
• Proficiency in titrating drips (Levo, Neo, Propofol, Fentanyl, Precedex, Insulin, TNK, etc.)

Description :

The ICU unit consists of 8 beds.

Nurse to patient ratios are 1 : 2-3 with some patients being lower acuity.

Common diagnoses include sepsis, general medical, general surgical, stroke (TNK), DKA, pneumonia, alcohol withdrawal, and post-cath recovery (radial / femoral sites).

ICU RNs are responsible for running codes.

In the event of a code, other ICU nurses will assist.

The unit has telehealth capabilities, with nurses available to back up during codes.

Primary care nursing is the main focus in this unit.

Previous travel experience is highly preferred.

Experience with Meditech is a plus.

Charge nurse takes assignments while the nursing supervisor remains patient-free.

Care support, unit secretaries, and CNAs are available when acuity warrants.

There is a hospitalist on duty 24 / 7.

Respiratory therapy equipment is available.

RN's are responsible for monitoring strips, with no monitor tech present.

Shifts are organized based on staffing needs.

Weekend requirements involve working every other weekend.

Holiday rotation is required.

Floating to MedSurg, Tele, and ER may occur with a full patient load.

Professional scrubs of any color are acceptable.

Department-specific orientation is provided.
