Summary
This position will be the primary support for transmission engineering's and CAD software, currently Bentley ProjectWise and MicroStation, respectively. On a regular basis, this position will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs; collect, evaluate, and coordinate product enhancements. The incumbent also supports the Transmission Engineering Services Department objectives of meeting the needs of a diverse clientele group. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication, reporting, analysis and troubleshooting skills.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Provides functional support and oversight of aforementioned applications via direct interaction with Transmission end users.Maintains and supports the CAD applications / Document Management System and develops the environment required by all approved users who have a need to access the Substation / Switchyard / Transmission Line design records and database information.Responsible for CAD applications / Document Management System customizations and configuration.Provide production CAD applications / Document Management System end user support.Responsible for print server plot driver customizations and driver updates in coordination with IT.Provides support for plotting and electronic file submissions.Conduct required user audits, maintain records and provide document status reports.Interfaces effectively with various individuals throughout Transmission, Distribution, Technology and contractor organizations in support of the user interface, problem solving and strategy development.Responsible for initiating, coordinating, and validating the CAD software / Document Management System upgrades partnering with the managed service provider.Responsible for drafting software evaluations, conversions, and assuring Transmission Engineering is utilizing drafting software effectively and efficiently that meet our business and technical requirements.Responsible for analyzing various processes, presenting and / or spearheading improvements as necessary.Provide SME knowledge of applications.Assist others within the workgroup as a functional escalation point.Develop, implement and enforce CAD / Document Management System.Develop and implement training material and programs for end users.Applies problem-solving skills to non-routine and complex assignments in a varied technical environment.Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements.Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
High school diploma / GED required. Associate or Bachelor's Degree in CAD related field preferred.2+ years of application support experience with aforementioned applications or applicable relevant education and experience.Bentley MicroStation support experience required.Bentley ProjectWise support experience required.AutoCAD support experience preferred.Bentley Substation support experience preferred.Autodesk Inventor and Substation Design Suite support experience preferred.Microsoft Office experience required.Must be adaptive and comfortable with rapidly changing objectives.Possess excellent application support management skills.Excellent oral communications and writing skills.Application Support Analyst Sr.
