Shift : Night – 3x12-Hour (18 : 30–07 : 00)
Schedule options : Sunday–Tuesday or Wednesday–Friday; holidays as needed
Job Responsibilities and Requirements :
The Polysomnographic Sleep Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies for patients ranging in age from infants to geriatrics. The technologist is responsible for patient preparation, equipment setup, data acquisition, and accurate scoring of sleep studies. This role involves working with both adult and pediatric patients, often caring for one adult and one pediatric patient per shift.
Job Responsibilities :
Conduct baseline, CPAP / BiPAP, VPAP, ASV, and oxygen titration sleep studiesPerform Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT) and home sleep testsMonitor ECG, EEG, O₂ saturation, periodic limb movements, respiratory effort, and CO₂ levelsStage and score sleep data, identifying arousals, hypopneas, apneas, and other sleep eventsFit masks (full face, nasal, nasal pillows) and ensure patient comfortProvide patient education and maintain infection control standardsCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory, social services, and phlebotomyRequired Qualifications :
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Polysomnographic TechnologistNational Certifications : BLS and RPSGTExperience in both hospital and independent lab settingsAbility to manage a 1 : 2 patient ratioExperience with Epic charting systemPreferred Qualifications :
Pediatric sleep study experience (ages 0–18)Previous charge experienceExperience scoring sleep studiesTeaching hospital experienceSkills & Competencies :
Sleep study modalities : PSG, MSLT, home sleep testsTitration : CPAP, BiPAP, VPAP, ASV, and oxygen administrationMonitoring : ECG, EEG, RIP, O₂ saturation, periodic limb movementMask fitting and troubleshootingStaging and scoring of sleep data, including complex sleep apnea and Cheyne-Stokes respirationKnowledge of Alice 6 sleep systemsPatient Population :
Adolescents, pediatrics, adults, geriatrics, and infants
