The Plant Controller role is based at Gas Turbine Applications (GTA) in Calera, Oklahoma , a company specializing in turbine repair, overhaul, and testing services.

Founded in 1984 and based in Calera, Oklahoma, Gas Turbine Applications (GTA) provides repair, overhaul, and testing services for gas turbines and related components. Operating from a 16,000 sq. ft. modern workshop and dedicated 9,600 sq. ft. turbine test facility, GTA delivers precision, reliability, and value across every project. The company’s onshore and offshore service teams bring more than 200 years of combined experience, supported by a complete parts inventory and in-house machining capabilities.

Role Description

The Plant Controller is a key member of the local leadership team, collaborating closely with the President, Production Manager, and Procurement, as well as with corporate leadership. This role is responsible for executing all aspects of accounting while improving existing business processes and developing new ones to support operational and financial excellence.

The Plant Controller oversees financial statement preparation and review, reporting and analysis, key metric monitoring, working capital and cash flow management, and product costing. In addition, this position plays a critical role in the oversight, development, and mentoring of support staff and shop floor employees on the accurate utilization of the Company’s ERP system.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on professional with strong financial acumen, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to clearly articulate complex financial concepts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory accounting.
  • Execute month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, including standard cost and overhead rate development.
  • Develop and maintain consistent costing methodologies across manufacturing, inventory, and procurement.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial forecasts.
  • Monitor and report on key financial and operational metrics.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Procurement to support cost control, capital project requests, and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and financial standards.
  • Supervise and develop administrative and accounting support staff.
  • Serve as a resource to plant and corporate management in understanding and interpreting financial results.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of standard cost accounting, inventory control, and manufacturing operations.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
  • Experience with GSS ERP or similar enterprise systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to non-financial audiences.
  • Proven leadership and process improvement skills.
