The Position
Ontario Promise Corps Raising Little Learners Early Learning Advisor. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis until a sufficient number of qualified applications have been received; recruitment may close at any time without notice. The City of Ontario seeks a highly responsible, self-motivated individual, passionate about working with children ages 0-4 and serving the community, to join the team. The role involves outreach and marketing in targeted neighborhoods, recruiting participants, and implementing workshop lessons for parents / caregivers and their children. As an AmeriCorps member, the individual will collaborate with librarians, business owners, the public and administrators to establish positive connections with students and families; assist in evaluating and refining the Raising Little Learners program; create marketing materials; and perform other related duties as necessary.
The successful candidate will exemplify the Department\'s mission and vision and the five-tool framework (Leader, Thinker, Communicator, Operator, Public Servant) and uphold the City\'s Customer Service Philosophy : Empathy, Respect, and Problem Solving. This is a grant-funded position and, while working with the City of Ontario, is NOT a City of Ontario employee position and does not include City benefits. Incumbents receive a program-funded benefits package (healthcare, childcare if available, mileage reimbursement) for the duration of the assignment. An Education Award (up to $10,000) is awarded after completing required service hours.

Qualification Guidelines
Education
Associate\'s Degree or equivalent in any field. Desirable : Experience in youth, service, K-16 education, or nonprofit work; Associate\'s Degree or equivalent in Child Development or closely related field; bilingual in Spanish.
Special Requirements
Must be 18 years or older; reliable transportation and ability to travel locally; full-time availability (~40 hours / week) from November 2025 to September 2026; minimum 1,700 hours of service; ability to work evenings and weekends when required; on-site and / or virtual work as required; regular attendance; adherence to City of Ontario and AmeriCorps code of conduct and policies. Note : Candidates must be able to successfully complete a Live Scan fingerprint review coordinated by the City of Ontario.
