Overview
The Calibration Engineer is responsible for developing the optimal engine calibration to meet drivability metrics along with emissions and fuel economy, calibrating maturity and development of sub features for propulsion system across the lifecycle including various propulsion concepts and electrification. The role collaborates with a team of calibration engineers to deliver system-level functional objectives related to emissions compliance. The engineer plans and coordinates propulsion dyno and vehicle testing, collaborates with technicians and laboratory support engineers, and develops test plans and timelines with reports to communicate program status to development and management teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize engine calibrations to meet drivability, emissions, and fuel economy targets.
- Coordinate calibration maturity across subsystem and vehicle-level validation, including robustness evaluations.
- Work across propulsion system concepts with varying levels of electrification in collaboration with a calibration team.
- Plan and coordinate daily propulsion dyno and vehicle testing with technicians and lab support engineers.
- Develop and execute test plans and timelines; generate reports communicating status to development and management teams.
