Standex Engraving Mold-Tech creates custom textures on tooling to enhance the beauty and function of a wide range of consumer goods and automotive products. Our solutions address all of the textured surfaces in vehicles, from instrument panels to headlamps designed for glare reduction and trunk interiors built to withstand scratches. We also provide textures to reinforce packaging, improve the performance of building products, protect handheld electronics and emboss materials such as paper, leather and various textiles. These are just a few examples of the Standex-touched textures that are all around us, designed for aesthetics and utility.

We're looking for a hands-on Automation Systems Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can wear multiple hats—from coding and PLC programming to robotics, low-code systems (e.g., SAP, ERP, MES), and local IT support. This role is perfect for a self-starter with a passion for learning, a strong work ethic, and the ability to innovate independently while collaborating with a tight-knit team. A critical aspect of the role is maximally leveraging AI to optimize manufacturing processes, enable predictive maintenance, and drive data-driven decision-making.

What You'll Do

• Program and maintain PLCs (Rockwell / Allen Bradley, Siemens, Schneider) and industrial robots (Fanuc preferred) to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Implement low-code platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Apps) and enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, ERP, MES) to streamline business operations.
• Leverage AI tools and technologies (e.g., machine learning, predictive analytics) to enhance automation, predictive maintenance, and process optimization.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical components of production equipment.
• Manage on-site IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cybersecurity.
• Collaborate with production teams to enhance efficiency and implement innovative AI-driven solutions.
• Work independently to scope and execute automation, AI, and IT projects.
