Role Overview
Are you a skilled Senior Field Engineer with experience in Windows Systems, networking, and customer-facing problem solving? We are seeking an adaptable, technically sound professional to join our hybrid team in Kansas City. Collaborating with our engineering team, you'll work directly with clients to troubleshoot, implement, and optimize IT systems while driving key technical projects.
This client-interactive role requires advanced interpersonal skills, technical acumen, and the ability to find innovative solutions for a variety of IT challenges.
Daily Responsibilities
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting (Break Fix) : Address escalated issues from the Service Desk.
- Project Work (Major Focus) : Deliver technical solutions for client IT infrastructure needs.
- Documentation and Collaboration : Maintain accurate records for each client environment and create resolution documentation.
- System Deployment and Configuration :
Set up and deploy Windows desktops / laptops, network switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Install and configure Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and server virtualization software (Hyper-V, VMware).System and Network Maintenance :Optimize workstations, servers, and backup systems.
Maintain Active Directory / DNS skills.Leadership and Team Support : Mentor junior staff members to improve their technical skills and troubleshooting capabilities.Requirements
Core Technical Skills (Must-Have)
Intune Autopilot expertise for device management and deployment.Strong networking skills to support infrastructure challenges.Windows Server proficiency and experience with Dell / HPE / Cisco hardware.Excellent customer-facing communication skills (written and verbal).Hands-on troubleshooting and implementation of PC hardware, Windows operating systems, and enterprise networks.Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)
Experience in mentoring and technical leadership.Professional certifications such as Microsoft or Cisco.Qualifications
Education : College diploma or degree in Computer Science preferred.Experience : 3-5 years in hands-on technical roles supporting Windows desktop OS, servers, and enterprise network equipment.Certifications : Industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco) are a strong benefit but not required.Interpersonal Attributes :Excellent customer service orientation with an ability to clearly communicate with both technical peers and non-technical clients.
Ability to collaborate in a team to build proactive, client-focused solutions.Work Conditions
Work Environment : Majority of your time will be spent on-site with clients.Limited on-call and after-hours work as needed.Physical Demands : Ability to sit, stand, or lift moderately heavy equipment as required; may require navigating confined spaces or climbing ladders at installation sites.Travel : Local travel required (clean driving record mandatory).Benefits
