Initial engagement will be until the end of the year and then expected to continue for 6 months in 2026
Location : United States (ideally Chicago-based, but open to West Coast) - Occasional meetings in Chicago

Description

We’re seeking an experienced Principal or Management Consultant to lead an organisational design and target operating model (TOM) project for a real estate and property investment client based in Chicago. The consultant will work closely with senior leadership to assess the current structure, define a future-state operating model, and create clear implementation recommendations to improve efficiency, accountability, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of a new target operating model (TOM) for the organisation.

Conduct current-state assessments of organisational structure, processes, and governance.

Develop recommendations for future-state organisation design, role structures, and capability frameworks.

Facilitate stakeholder workshops and leadership sessions to align on design principles and outcomes.

Produce high-quality deliverables, including TOM blueprints, design options, and implementation roadmaps.

Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure recommendations are practical and actionable.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience delivering org design and TOM projects within a consulting environment (Principal, Engagement Manager, or similar level).

Strong background in business transformation, operating model design, or organisation effectiveness.

Experience working with real estate, property investment, or asset management clients is advantageous.

Excellent stakeholder management and facilitation skills, comfortable engaging with C-suite stakeholders.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Familiarity with tools and frameworks such as RACI models, capability mapping, and governance design.
