Investigator (Hybrid) – California Department of Health Care Services
This posting describes the Investigator role in the DHCS Audits & Investigations (A&I) Division. The position is field-based with hybrid telework options where applicable.
Base pay range
Salary listed : $6,339.00 - $10,609.00 per month. New state candidates may be hired at the minimum of the classification or applicable alternate range. Final salary depends on qualifications and bargaining unit rules.
Position Details
Responsibilities
The Investigator conducts full and complete criminal / civil investigations into allegations of fraud against Medi-Cal and other programs under the DHCS. Investigators are peace officers under California Penal Code, Section 830.3(h), performing duties comparable to other peace officers.
DHCS A&I uses a field-based investigative model. Investigative staff primarily work in the field (approximately 90% of assignments) and return to a residence or secured location for tasks that cannot be completed in the field. State law enforcement vehicles may be provided for field duties.
