Description :

The unit has a total of 15 beds.

There are 18 staff members working in the unit.

During the day shift, the typical staffing includes 1 charge nurse who takes a full load, 2 registered nurses, and 1 certified nursing assistant.

Night shift staffing consists of 1 charge nurse, 2 registered nurses, and 1 certified nursing assistant.

The patient-to-nurse ratio is 5 : 1, with a maximum ratio of 6 : 1.

Equipment used in the unit includes vital sign machines, transfer equipment (such as hoyer lifts and sliding boards), EKG machines, and bladder scanners.

The electronic medical record system utilized is Meditech, along with Pyxis for medication management.

Ideal candidates will have experience in rehab and rehab scoring documentation.

Typical procedures performed on the unit include patient transfers and bladder scans, as well as dressing changes and medication administration.

Teamwork and initiative are essential personality traits for candidates.

Candidates with rehab experience are preferred.

The unit requires adherence to bedside reporting and hourly rounding.

Bed alarm activation must be ensured for patient safety.

Staffing includes every other weekend and seldom on-call responsibilities unless the overall hospital census is low.
