job_description.job_card.job_descriptionWork in the Labor & Delivery and Obstetrics units of an acute care hospital Care for laboring patients, postpartum patients, newborns, GYN, pediatrics, and Med-Surg overflow Average daily census is 5 mom / baby couplets, 2 pediatrics, 1 GYN, 2 laboring, and 4 special care nursery Nurse-to-patient ratios : 1 : 3 mom / baby couplets, 1 : 5 GYN / Med-Surg, 1 : 3-4 pediatrics Uses Epic EMR, Acudose, Philips Vitals Machines, Medula Breast Pumps, Bladder Scanner, Medfusion Pumps 12-hour rotating day / night shifts, includes every third weekend and rotating holidays Willingness to float to Med-Surg and Telemetry units as needed Responsibilities include caring for antepartum, postpartum, pediatric, newborn, GYN, and Med-Surg overflow patients and assisting as a second RN in the special care nursery Daily equipment and unit orientation provided on the first day Support staff includes ward clerks, CNAs, charge / resource nurses, and LPN scrub nurses All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility Navy blue scrubs are required Applicants who previously worked for the health system must have ended their prior employment at least 6 months before consideration Local candidates within 80 miles are accepted Active Minnesota RN license required Minimum 2 years of recent OB / Labor & Delivery nursing experience Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NRP certifications required Epic EMR experience preferred; willingness to learn if not experienced Experience in postpartum and pediatric care required High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
