Security Monitor FT(HLC) at Salvation Army ARC
What You Will Do
- Enforces rules of the Harbor Light Center
- Ensures the safety of all clients, staff, and visitors
- Monitors all incoming traffic into the facility 24 hours per day
- Monitors security cameras
- Facilitates and performs emergency evacuations
- Secures the building and ensures all doors are locked
- Conducts internal and external rounds throughout the building and premises
- Performs searches of dorm rooms or other spaces to detect contraband or other prohibited items
- Conducts Breathalyzer tests on every client (required & random) entering South Entrance
- Conducts urine drug screens (required & random) on clients as needed
- Performs searches of belongings on all prospective clients
- Performs searches of belongings for current clients who have left the facility and are re-entering the building (escorted to the welcome center for searching and scrubs)
- Directs and documents Bed Checks to verify client census on a nightly basis
- Confiscates, disposes, and documents all contraband found on clients, in building or premises
- Escort clients to meals when there is no staff available for that department
- Monitors clients at meals and throughout daily activities
- Performs and participates in mandatory Morning Thoughts
- Dispenses and tracks lunch bags given to working clients
- Transports clients to and from the hospital when needed
- Transports client medications to Medical Room
- Monitors the Medical Room during medication administration
- Maintains Transitional Housing sign in / out sheets
- Maintains 15-Minute Break sign in / out sheets
- Performs daily watch clock rounds throughout the building
- Documents and completes Incident Reports for events related to the building, premises, off-site occurrences, and / or clients
- Receives and completes Property Log for all property dropped off to clients
- Secures and completes Valuables Log of all client valuables / property
- Logs every piece of mail received from the United States Postal Services
- Answer, transfer and direct all incoming calls to the appropriate person or department
- Monitors Residential Treatment Department and clients when no Residential Treatment staff are in the building
- Monitors community service workers
- Processes and receipts cash and / or check payments for client accounts when Financial Office is closed
- Attends monthly In-service Meetings and staff meetings
- Helps / Assists other departments as needed or directed
- Maintains attendance with agency guidelines
- Contributes to a positive work environment
- Other tasks as assigned by leadership
Minimum Qualifications
Education : High School Diploma or equivalent preferredBackground Checks : Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewedExperience : Security experience preferredCertifications : Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 90 days of employmentSkills / Abilities
Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clienteleComputer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systemsIf in recovery, must demonstrate a minimum of 2 years sobriety including emotional and social stabilityPhysical Requirements
Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterityLifting, pulling, and pushing of materials up to 50 poundsMay require bending, squatting, walkingMay require standing for extended periodsWork Environment and Conditions
