Content Development Specialist

The Content Development Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing Learning for Justice's educational and advocacy initiatives by creating engaging learning content and resources for diverse platforms and audiences. This position involves researching and writing comprehensive publications, designing courses, and employing strategies to assess content alignment with community programs.

What You'll Do

  • Research : Create and develop resource publications, courses, and learning experiences tailored for both in-person engagement and online education across various audiences.
  • Collaborate : Engage in strategies to gather information and dialogue with communities to analyze needs and aspirations, guiding the development of effective community education programs.
  • Contribute : Assist in designing resource and learning content, ensuring that pedagogical strategies, structure, topic selection, and other factors align with research-based practices.
  • Design : Facilitate learning experiences and utilize information gathering techniques to evaluate content and community alignment.
  • Revise : Update existing learning materials to maintain quality, accuracy, and coherence with program philosophy and style.
  • Manage : Oversee project plans and progress for all assigned initiatives, coordinating collaboration between internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate : Work on developing multimedia learning experiences and contribute creatively to informational and promotional campaigns.
  • Perform : Undertake other related duties as assigned within the scope of this role.

Minimum Qualifications

We encourage equitable hiring practices. To be considered for this position, you must meet the following qualifications :

  • At least 7 years of demonstrated expertise in research, writing, and content and curriculum development for community education initiatives and K-12 education.
  • 2 years of K-12 teaching experience.
  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • Compensation & Benefits

    This is an exempt position with a minimum starting salary of $84,905 annually. Salary is commensurate with experience.

    Work Designations

    This role offers different work designations, including :

  • Local Remote : Work remotely while attending work-related activities at SPLC offices or in states where the SPLC operates.
  • Telework : Split schedule allowing work from SPLC office at least three days a week and two days at an alternate location.
  • This position will report to the Deputy Director, Curriculum & Content.
  • Other Considerations

    This role is performed under general office conditions and does not have strenuous physical demands or hazardous conditions.
