- Utilizesthe unique knowledge, skills, and competenciesrequired in ambulatory care nursing practice to promote wellness, restore health, address health-related situational problems and / or support end-of-life care.\n
- Assesses patients' needs and applies current ambulatory care nursing knowledge and evidence-based nursing practice when developing an individualized plan of care for each patient.\n
- Demonstratesthe knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patientsserved on assigned unit.\n
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, assesses the data reflective of the patient'sstatus and interpretsthe necessary information needed to identify each patient'srequirementsrelative to age-specific\n\nneeds.\n
- Prescribes, delegates, coordinates, and documents patient care in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consistent manner. This includes but is notlimited to patient assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, and patientsafety.\n
- Demonstrates competency in nursing skills and use of patient care / unit equipment as defined by unit-specific requisite skills.\n
- Prioritizes patient care in an ongoing manner in accordance with Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care.\n
- Practices effective problem identification and resolution.\n
- Delegatestasks and dutiesto healthcare team membersin accordance with the patient's needs and the team member's capabilities and qualifications.\n
- Communicates appropriate information regarding patient condition or unit concernsto other health care team members.\n
- Maintains a safe and caring environment for both patients and family.\n
- Integrates patient and family education throughoutthe delivery of care.\n
- Participatesin ProcessImprovement activities as assigned.\n
- Demonstrates awareness oflegal issues, patients' rights and compliance with the standards ofregulatory and accrediting agencies.\n
- Maintainsreasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.\n

- The professional nurse contributesto the knowledge and skills of others, and the continuousimprovement of the quality of health care practice and organizational outcomes.\n
- Participates and may lead unit level and / or organizational level committees of nursing practice and performance improvement.\n
- Participates in department and organizational peer review, mentoring, and coaching regarding professional practice or role performance.\n
- Practices efficient use ofsupplies and maintains a clean, safe, and organized unit.\n
- Provides input into staff development needs, hospital and / or nursing committees, nursing research activities, and performance management activities of co-workers and self.\n
- Assumesresponsibility for one's own professional development and continuing education.\n
- Performs all other duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications : \n\nEducation / Training\n
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.\n
- Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirementsfor Orlando Health and unit / department\n\nLicensure / Certification\n
- Maintains current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).\n
- Maintains current BLS / Healthcare Provider certification.\n
- ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas.\n\nExperience\n
- 1 year experience required unless approved by AVP level or above.
