RN Clinical Documentation Specialist

A company is looking for a RN Clinical Documentation Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

Conducts initial and ongoing reviews of patient medical records to ensure accurate documentation within specified timeframes

Collaborates with physicians and healthcare providers to clarify documentation and educate on improvement guidelines

Partners with coding professionals to ensure accuracy of data and prepares appeals for third-party payors

Required Qualifications and Education

Minimum of five years of acute care nursing experience in medical / surgical, Intensive Care, or Emergency Department

Current RN Licensure is required

CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire

Experience in physician relations and documentation improvement

Proficiency in using medical coding and documentation software
