Job Description
We are seeking a QHSE Director to work for one of our most trusted clients, a global chemical company.
The Quality Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE) Director will optimize all activities associated with the company’s health and safety program. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Oversee all occupational safety and health program elements and activities to achieve safety goals and objectives, ensuring compliance with regulatory agency and corporate requirements.
- Communicate HSE performance and emerging trends to the executive leadership team and lead the development and execution of mitigation strategies to reduce and prevent incidents.
- Lead efforts in implementing Hazard Reduction and Injury Prevention Projects across the enterprise.
- Ensure 100% compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Drive improvements in the organization’s HSE culture, awareness, and accountability, serving as a role model for HSE leadership.
- Ensure all company’s sites understand and comply with terms and conditions of all chemical, regulatory, and environmental permits.
- Conduct incident / accident investigations and develop corrective and preventative action plans.
- Measure and maintain HSE metrics (Incidence & Injury rate, First Aid Cases, Near Misses, Concern Reporting, Training Completion, Stop Work Cases).
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies concerning all HSE issues.
Preferred Experience :
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or Environmental Science from an accredited university or college; Advanced degree preferred.Minimum 12+ years of QHSE experience with at least 7 years in the chemical industry.Certifications such as CSP, CEP, Hazpower, ISO, ICS, and ER are preferred.Experience auditing PSM, RMP, LOTO, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, Confined Space, Work Permits, Hazardous Waste, NPDES, Stormwater, SPCC.
