Executive Vice President, Member Value and Experience

The American College of Radiology seeks a visionary and strategic leader to serve as the inaugural Executive Vice President (EVP) for Member Value and Experience. Reporting directly to the CEO, this executive will play a critical role in shaping and executing strategies to enhance the value proposition of ACR membership and elevate the overall experience of members. The EVP will provide executive oversight for key functional areas vital to member connection and professional development including membership, education, marketing, public affairs and communications, conference and meeting services, strategy management and foresight, and publications.

The position is also responsible for some of the operational and member commissions and dyad relationships between staff and volunteer leaders. This position requires a dynamic leader adept at integrating diverse functions to create a seamless member journey, fostering loyalty, growth, and active participation within the college. The role focuses on developing long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies; the ability to routinely exercise discretion; and independent judgment in the performance of job duties. This position is accountable for the overall programmatic and fiscal integrity of the multiple departments and external relationships, articulating the compelling mission and vision of the ACR to all stakeholders.

The Executive Vice President must be a strategic, versatile leader who can bridge the gap between what the College delivers and how that translates into meaningful value for its diverse membership. A deep understanding of the breadth of the professionacross radiology specialties, geographies, and practice typesis essential, as is the ability to distill complex content into clear, compelling messaging that resonates with members. This role requires a keen awareness of the nuances between branding and marketing, and the discipline to move beyond slogans to deliver authentic, data-driven engagement. The EVP must be deliberate in strengthening connections with state chapter leaders, leveraging their local insight to create a multiplier effect that amplifies national initiatives. An understanding of the fragmented nature of today's workforce across the radiology fieldwill be critical in shaping communication strategies that meet people where they are, using effective channels like social media, which remains underutilized.

Equally important are operational and interpersonal attributes. The EVP must be curious, adaptable, and able to collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), extracting essential insights across commissions and specialty areas to inform broader strategy. This position requires a strong ability to lead and integrate cross-functional teams, ensuring that marketing and content efforts are aligned and impactfulnot just process-driven.

The EVP will need to elevate staff competencies, especially in leveraging member data and analytics, to close the current gap between available insights and actual utilization. With over 2,000 volunteers contributing to the College's work, this leader must also foster a culture of engagement, identifying pathways to increase participation and recognize volunteer impact. Ultimately, the EVP will help set a new tone of leadershipone grounded in relevance, responsiveness, and the ability to inspire action across all levels of the organization.

Skills and competencies include :

  • Master's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, marketing, non-profit management, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 20+ years related experience; 10+ years supervisory required.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategies for member / customer engagement, growth, and retention.
  • Visionary leadership with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Experience in strategic planning, foresight, and translating strategy into actionable plans.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing significant budgets.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles, educational program development, and meeting management.
  • Data-driven decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficiency in leveraging technology to enhance member services and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent MS Office skills along with a basic knowledge of payroll and finance / accounting related systems.
  • Ability to manage a remote workforce.
  • Knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • First year priorities will include :

  • Assisting in the implementation of foundational systems and strategies that support a more integrated and data-driven approach across the organization.
  • Operationalizing the portfolio management system to better align initiatives with member value, market needs, and strategic priorities.
  • Developing an enterprise-wide education strategy, including clinical, leadership, and functional education.
  • Focusing on resource assessment and innovation, including identifying gaps in analytical support and establishing product development benchmarks.
  • Renewed focus on member recruitment and retention, along with a proactive approach to chapter engagement.

    ACR is committed to a total rewards compensation philosophy that includes base salary in addition to our full suite of comprehensive benefits. ACR's goal is to pay competitively and equitably. It is typical for individuals to be hired in the entry to middle of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on each case's circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the annual compensation range for this position is $400,000 $500,000.
